In his Founder Letter, Zuckerberg deliberately and specifically highlighted the reasons for the rebranding into Meta:
“Our brand is currently so inextricably connected to one product that it cannot possibly reflect all we do today, let alone in the future. Over time, I wish to be recognized as a metaverse firm, and I want to base our work and identity on what we’re working towards.
The metaverse includes both social interactions and future technologies. As we widen our horizons, it’s time to create a new brand. However, all of our goods, including our applications, now share a new vision: to assist in bringing the metaverse to life. And now we have a moniker that accurately represents the scope of our work.
From now on, we shall prioritize the metaverse above Facebook. That means you won’t need a Facebook account to enjoy our other services in the future. As our new brand appears in our products, I hope that people all around the world get acquainted with the Meta brand and the future we represent.”
Apart from creating a new world of social connections, Zuckerberg has also shared Meta’s concept of Creative Economy.
Basically, the Creative Economy is an economy of creators and developers in making social interactions viable through an augmented reality in the Metaverse. In fact, Zuckerberg shared that Meta will be crafted with a group of creators and developers who could trigger an interoperation ecosystem in making a massive creative economy that could result to new and immersive experiences.

Our mobile apps are completely free. The ad model is intended to deliver the most affordable costs to companies. Commerce tools are free or charge a little price. As a consequence, billions of individuals enjoy our services, and hundreds of millions of companies rely on them.
That is the method we want to use in assisting in the creation of the metaverse. We want to sell our gadgets at a loss or at a discount.
