Filipino Influencers | If you are stuck in your condo and you don’t know what to do, you might want to read this article to inspire yourself to build your own influence through social media. Who knows? You might be the next Filipino to be included on this list of Filipino Influencers That Are Dominating Int’l Social Media!

Marketers and consumers alike have become obsessed in recent years with personalities, often known as influencers, whose social media activity has opened up space for conversation, inspiration, and affinity. The public’s perception of these influencers has altered throughout time–but maybe no shift has been larger or more significant than the one that occurred in 2020, when the pandemic hit out of nowhere, rendering many of social media’s frills and fluff practically useless.

Filipinos are spending more time online and viewing other people’s epidemic experiences via the lens of social media. So far, it has been a period of remoteness and uncertainty, and people are searching for inspiration and guidance when it comes to deciding what to trust and what to invest into.

Influencers who demonstrate social awareness and social responsibility have gained popularity. The paradigm change in online content creation is no longer focused on #goals, but rather on authentic expression.

Individuals trust genuine people more than a brand identity. Influencers are genuine people. The goal today is to be an inspiration by taking acts with a purpose in mind. The criterion for selecting influencers has now shifted, and the need for influencers to examine their material demonstrates how the epidemic has helped us understand more of what actually matters in this world: a two-way interaction, not a one-way sales channel.

Four Filipinos That Are Dominating Social Media Today

Bella Poarch

Make way for the Tiktok-superstar-turned-singer Bella Poarch!

TikTok’s latest overnight sensation is Bella Poarch, a social media influencer known for her subtle lip-syncing videos — and a number of controversies. Though she only joined the app in April 2020, she has been averaging nearly 1 million new followers every day, according to YouTuber Def Noodles, who tracks influencer trends. As of press time, she has 39 million followers.

According to her Facebook, TikTok star Bella Poarch is 19 years old and from the Philippines. She migrated to the United States when she was 13 years old and currently resides in Hawaii, according to her Twitter account. She recently catapulted to TikTok’s popularity after posting a video of herself lip-syncing “M to the B,” which became the most loved video on the platform with 145.3 million views and 35.5 million views, according to PopBuzz. The video has 38.7 million likes at the time of publication. In April 2020, she started her TikTok account.

In bio sections of her social media accounts, Poarch wrote that she is a United States Navy Veteran. In her earlier posts on Instagram, there are plenty of photos of her in uniform. On Facebook, she shared posts from when she was stationed in Japan. On Instagram, she also shared a post from being stationed in South Korea. Her last Instagram post of her in uniform was posted on January 25, 2019.

Though Poarch is quickly becoming one of the most popular TikTok users, most of her internet presence is fairly recent. Her YouTubeTikTokTwitch and Twitter accounts were all created between March and May of 2020.

Bryan Boy

“Today was the worst!” This is the famous line of Filipino rising Tiktoker Bryan Grey Yambao, popularly known as Bryanboy. Bryan is fashion blogger and socialite from the Philippines. He began writing at the age of 24 from his parents’ house in Manila, where he was a former web developer.

His eponymous site was named Best Fashion & Lifestyle Blog in the 2007 Philippine Blog Awards. He was designated one of the nine sexiest online celebrities by the New York Post, and news.com.au labeled him “one of Fashion 2.0‘s greatest superstars” and a “phenom in the fashion blogosphere.” His blog, dubbed “hysterically camp” by the Sydney Morning Herald, is recognized for its “witty and frequently caustic comments,” and he served as the social media correspondent on the panel of America’s Next Top Model Cycles 19 and 20.

Bryanboy fans frequently send in photos of themselves in his signature pose—standing with hips thrust to one side and a handbag in an outstretched arm—or with handwritten signs declaring “I adore Bryanboy”; celebrities who have participated include Marc Jacobs, Tanya Dziahileva, Alexandra Agoston, and Rachel Clark. Bryanboy’s distinctive posture was reportedly referenced in two 2006 Fendi campaigns, however, no brand spokesperson commented on the topic. After Bryanboy mentioned it on his blog, Marc Jacobs named a handbag after him (the BB ostrich bag).

Bretman Rock

Bretman Rock is an Instagram superstar, YouTuber, and Viner who is defying all expectations for the right reasons. And how can we forget how amusing his ‘Instagram’ vids are? His energy levels and sense of humor are unrivaled, and once you join his channel, there is no turning back! Bret is no ordinary youngster, with his brows and contour always on point, and his humor that includes a tinge (maybe more than a hint) of expletives and all things sarcastic. Bret’s don’t-care-won’t-care attitude is perhaps why people of all ages and genders take an instant like him since he has over 9 million Instagram followers and counting.

His makeup lessons with a multitude of humor will have you in splits for hours! His on-screen magnetism will have you enthralled for hours, and before you realize it, you’ll have pressed the ‘Subscribe’ button!

Bret and his beautiful eye makeup and contour have been a major success with his admirers, but let’s go a little further into how he discovered his ability in all things glam and funny. Bretman Rock was up around a lot of ladies who weren’t quite beauty-obsessed, but he was exposed to beauty and glitter from an early age. Bret drew inspiration from the stunning though cancer-stricken YouTuber, Talia Joy, a few years later after coming upon ‘YouTube,’ and elected to venture out into the public with a full makeup face.

Bret recognized that his inspiration resides in the middle of haters after receiving some backlash. His next move was to take to social media and encourage everyone to embrace their individuality, regardless of what the detractors say or believe. Enter the 6-second video software ‘Vine,’ which transformed his life! His films such as ‘I’m Prada, you’re nothing, and ‘When I enter the classroom’ have earned a lot of attention for his quick wit, which sets him apart from the crowd. Not only did his ‘Vine’ videos receive a lot of attention, but so did his ‘Snapchat’ videos, which put him in the limelight for his sense of humor.

Olivia Rodrigo

When we discover that a book or novel we read as children is being made for the film, we experience unfathomable joy. Imagine yourself as the main character in the novel you grew up reading and adoring. Does it seem surreal? That is precisely what happened to Filipino-American actress Olivia Rodrigo. Olivia made her acting debut after landing the lead part in the show ‘American Girl,’ which Rodrigo had been watching since she was seven years old. The adolescent was given the opportunity to play a figure with whom she had long identified and admired. Her talent was soon appreciated and now she’s a face most viewers of the television channel ‘Disney’ recognize.

Though this achievement is wonderful, it has come at a cost. Olivia had to relocate from city to city on a regular basis, foregoing normal school and hangouts with pals. She is also well-known on ‘Instagram,’ where she has over 39, 000 followers, and on ‘Twitter,’ where she is creating waves.

Olivia Rodrigo rose to fame after starring in the film ‘American Girl: Grace Stirs Up Success.’ The plot centers around Grace’s love of baking and her unexpected journey to Paris. The character subsequently appears on the show ‘MasterChef Junior’ in an attempt to preserve her grandparents’ bakery, which is on the verge of closing.

Olivia’s natural skill and upbeat attitude set her apart from her colleagues, garnering her more than one major role. It’s no surprise that she was eager to return to television following her first film breakthrough. Olivia is presently featured in the ‘Disney TV’ sitcom ‘Bizaardvark,’ which follows two teens in their daily life. The characters in the show portrayed aspiring musicians who create and perform their own songs.
With all of this popularity and success at the age of 13, we can be assured that the future looks bright for this lovely little star!
